Today’s Musing Mondays question is… “This past week, Borders re-released it’s 100 Favourite Books of All Times. Do you vote in these kinds of polls when they arise? Do you look through the list, or seek out books featured?”
No, I don’t really seek out these lists, but when I see them pop up on someone’s blog (or in a meme!) I usually give them a look. Then, if I see a title that sounds interesting, I file it away for future reference. Now that I read all of these here book blogs, I find myself not really wanting to try a new book until I’ve read at least a little bit about it (on a blog, in the newspaper, in BookPage, from a friend, on the jacket flap). So I might think that The Bronze Horsemen (page 2) sounds interesting, but it’s not going on my TBR list just yet. But if I see it in the library, I might take a look and see if it’s worth reading.
Not one to vote for those list!
Mondays: Mused/Amused etc etc
Sometimes I vote, sometimes I don't.
I look at the lists too, but don't come across them to place a vote.
I never voted in one and I never seek them out but if I happen upon one,it is fun to look at.
I don't think I've come across a list that I can vote on. I do enjoy reading them though, comparing titles I've read and that sort of thing. I don't seek out the lists, but if someone links one or mentions it on her blog, I'll probably take a peek.
Man, no one votes for these things! How does anything get decided? 🙂
